Mrs. Shirley Helen Quick, Age 92 of Newaygo died Thursday, November 29, 2012. She was born Shirley Helen Boeder in Lake Forest, Illinois, the daughter of Elizabeth Dora (Matson) and Herman Robert Boeder on June 22, 1920. She married Gordon Monroe Quick on December 24, 1940 in Fremont, Michigan and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1979. She was a Cook for Newaygo Public Schools. She was a member of Newaygo United Church of Christ. She is survived by her children Sally Alighire of San Antonio, TX, David & Jane Quick of Newaygo, Peter & Pat Quick of Grand Rapids, and Kevin Quick of Grand Rapids, : 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and her sister Carol & Frank Konkel of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her son Steven Quick and grandson Antony Alighire. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM from the Newaygo United Church of Christ on Monday, December 3, 2012 with Rev. Jonathan Riedel officiating. Interment in Croton Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5‑7 pm Sunday at McKinley Funeral Home, Newaygo Chapel

Mr. Gerald L. Culver, age 60 of , Grant, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in Grand Rapids. He was born Gerald Lynn Culver in Romulus, the son of Bernice Mary (Schaylin) and Donald Gerald Culver on November 3, 1952. He was a self-employed Builder for 40 years until retiring in 2010.

He is survived by his children Monica Rogers, Jack Rasch, Walter Rasch, Shelby Ratliff, 5 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, his brothers and sisters Larry Culver, Betty McCormick, Mary (Al) Myatt, Joyce (David) Hopp, Sheila (Bob) Garland, Richard (Edith) Culver, Robert Culver, James (Debbie) Culver.

Carrie Lou (Kay) Jenks of Newaygo has gone to Heaven to be with her Lord November 19, 2012. Carrie was the daughter of Richard Henry Jenks and Ellen Marie MacDougall. She was born in Eden Twp., Mason Co., MI, September 9, 1927.

Surviving her is her daughter Linda Kay (Michael) Haney whose father was Gordon Willis Lachmann, special stepson Douglas Glockzin of Lansing and special friend Winnie Veurink of Newaygo. Carrie had three grand children Tina Bouwkamp (Marvin) Dunbar of Holton, Amy Bouwkamp (Tom) Postma of Newaygo and Chris Bouwkamp of Grant. Four great-grandchildren Katie Dunbar (Brett) Wiggers, Michael Dunbar, Hunter Postma and Hannah Postma. One great great grandchild Ashlyn Nicole Wiggers.

Burial at Parkview Cemetery in Grant. A celebration of Carrie’s life will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Patricia Ann VanDyk, age 54 of Brohman, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at home, together with her significant other and best friend, Joseph Cherneski.  She was born Patricia Ann Jackson in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Jack and Lillian Jackson on June 23, 1958. She was a production associate for Magna Mirrors, Newaygo.  She is survived by her son Buddy and Lacey VanDyk of White Cloud, several grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her father Jack Jackson,   her brother Michael & Becky Jackson of Newaygo and her sister Nancy.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Angela Daughterty, great grandson Caiden Mendez and her mother Lillian Pakkula.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM from the McKinley Funeral Home, Newaygo Chapel on Sunday, November 25, 2012.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 at the funeral home.  A memorial service honoring both Patricia and Joseph will be held at the White Cloud Eagles on Sunday at 1:00 PM.

Mr. Joseph Andrew Cherneski, Age 54 of Brohman, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at home, together with his significant other and best friend, Patricia VanDyk. He was born Joseph Andrew Cherneski in Manistique, Michigan, the son of Veda Lois (Jones) and Willard Joseph Cherneski on November 27, 1957. He was an equipment operator in construction. He is survived by his children Joseph Cherneski of Newaygo and Lisa Wynn of Grand Rapids, several grandchildren, his mother Veda Cherneski of Gulfport, MS, his sister Vernena & Ron Stowe of Wyoming, his brothers David Cherneski and Paul Cherneski both of Gulfport, MS, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Willard Cherneski. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM at the White Cloud Eagles on Sunday, November 25, 2012. Visitation will be held from Noon to 1:00 PM at the Eagles.

Mrs. Geraldine LaVern Woodcox, Age 95 of Grant, Michigan died Friday, November 16, 2012 in Grant. She was born Geraldine LaVern Forman in Rockford, Michigan, the daughter of Hazel A. (Truax) and Edward D. Forman on July 24, 1917. She married E.B. Woodcox on August 4, 1945 in Detroit and he preceded her in death on May 1988. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her sons James & Pat Eckert of Westland, Edward & Jerrie Eckert of Newaygo, Roger & Colleen Woodcox of Newaygo, Jerry & Elaine Woodcox of Grandville, 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren & great great grandchildren, her brother Donald & Mary Forman of Kent City, her brother‑in‑law Al Dame of Rockford, and several nieces and nephews. For memorials, please consider a Hospice organization of your choice. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Belle Gragg, age 93 of Grant, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at her home in Ashland Township. She was born Anna Belle Jenks in Scottville, the daughter of Ellen Marie (McDougal) and Richard Henry Jenks on April 11, 1919. She married Ferris Worden Gragg on April 16, 1037 in Indiana and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2009. She was a Postal Clerk for US Post Office ‑ Grant until 1985 retiring after 15 years. She was a member of Grant Community Church and the Charisma House.

She is survived by her son Dennis & Echo Gragg,her grandchildren Lance & Kim Gragg, Denal & Darrel Nelson, Vanessa & James Nicolas, her great grandchildren Shaun & Cathy Gragg, Cassi & Travis Hansen, Jessica & Jacob Jones, Courtney Dupras, MacKenzie Dupras, Aaron & Josie Nicolas, Cody Nicolas, Mike Nicolas, Drew & Kelsey Nelson, Beth & Nate Morse, Leslie & Rebel Smith, her great great grandchildren Jaxon Gragg, Reese Gragg, Austin Gragg, Montana Hansen, Logyn Hansen, Tucker Jones, Reid Nelson, Deacon Morse, Breslyn Smith, and her sister Carrie Jenks.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM from the Grant Community Church, on Saturday, December 1, 2012 with Pastor Steve Vander West officiating. Mrs. Lillian Ringler, age 88  of Fremont, formerly of White Cloud went to be with her Lord on November 2, 2012.  She is survived by her children Darlene Wilson of Newaygo, Jan & Roger Cogar of Webster Springs ,WV, Rick & Janet Ringler of White Cloud, Randy & Kim Ringler of Cleveland, TN, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, her brother Maurice Hannah and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Walter R. Ringler, her sister Leola Coffman, and her brothers Edwin Hannah, Clifford Hannah and Jim Shook.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the White Cloud Church of God.  Visitation will be held at McKinley Funeral Home in Newaygo on Monday 7:00 – 9:00 PM.  Interment will be in Big Prairie-Everett Cemetery.
