Jacqueline (Jackie) Ann Jones, age 79, of Croton passed Tuesday, January 24, 2012 with her family around her. She was born June 26, 1932 to Karl and Gladys Giese in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She graduated from Grandville High School in 1950 and married Wayne Keith Jones on October 26, 1952.
Many folks will remember Jackie as a familiar face at Croton skating each week, handing out skates, running the concession stand, and teaching many youngsters how to skate. She also served as the first Librarian of the Croton Community Library, ran and owned the Croton Galley restaurant for many years, and later became a successful realtor with Lyda Realty.
She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, Crazy Bee Rummy, and baking (especially anything with her favorite ingredient “Peanut Butter”) with her grandchildren; going on fishing trips up north with her husband and their friends; jigsaw puzzles; Thursday night bingo; and taking care of her family. She had an incredible sense of humor and made everyone she met feel at ease. She was a beloved member of the community and will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Wayne; her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Janice Jones of Croton; her daughter Terri Kaiserlian of Croton; her grandchildren Wade Keith Jones (Leigh), Brian Keith Jones (Alexandria), Jennifer Ann-Marie Jones (Nick), Shelby Rose Kaiserlian and Sarah Ann Kaiserlian; her sisters, Esther Meyers of Grandville and Betty Korenstra of Fremont; her brothers, Bernard Giese of Walker and Leslie Giese of Sparta; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Gladys (West) Giese and Karl Giese; her sisters Marjie Decker, Dorothy Jackson & Marilyn Prelowitz; and her granddaughter Rhonda.
Per Jackie’s wishes, a graveside service will be held with immediate family only. Please leave condolences online at www.mckinleyfuneral.com.
