Larry Dean Pummel, age 65 of Muskegon died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his home. He was born Larry Dean Pummel in Lima, Ohio the son of Laura Elmina (Richardson) and Myron T. Pummel on December 19, 1945. He was a foundry worker for CWC Castings until August 3, 2004.
He is survived by his daughter, Jenny & Dennis Heikkinen of Lanse, MI, daughter, Jody & Rodney Aubert of Muskegon, daughter, Lourie Pummel of Twin Lake, MI, grandson, Andrew Aubert, brother, Robert & Linda Pummel of Muskegon, sister, Lillian & Ronald McDonald of Muskegon, sister, Elaine Pummel of Muskegon, brother, Thomas & Betty Pummel of Hesperia, brother, James Pummel of Muskegon, sister, Patricia & Bill McCullough of VA. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren Jasmin and Anthony.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. from the McKinley Grant Chapel, on Wednesday, November 2, 2011. Pastor Jerry Depoy will be officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. Mrs. Johanna Wolters, age 80 of Grant, died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Fountain View Retirement Village. She was born Johanna Hilbrand in Grant, the daughter of Sena (Shoemaker) and Henry D. Hilbrand on October 27, 1930. She married Alfred Wolters on December 2, 1955 in Grant. She was a member of Grant Christian Reformed Church.
She is survived by her husband Alfred Wolters of Kent City, son, Alan & Robin Wolters of Grant, son, Gary Wolters of Ravenna, daughter, Marcia & Robert Clapp of Grant, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, brother, Henry & Bermayne Hilbrand of Jenison, brother, Simon & Sharon Hilbrand of Grant, brother, Carl & Dixie Hilbrand of Grant, brother, Don & Joan Hilbrand of Grant, sister, Dorothy Scholtens of Grant, her sisters in law Bonnie Hilbrand, Lois Hilbrand both of Grant and Freidith Hilbrand of Byron Center. She was preceded in death by her brothers Harry, Richard and Albert Hilbrand.
Funeral services will be held at noon from the Grant Christian Reformed Church, on Monday, October 31, 2011 with Pastor Adam Nordyke officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery. Mr. David Lee Koopman, Age 69 of Grant, Michigan died Monday, October 24, 2011 at home. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Jennie (Plakmeyer) and Leonard Koopman on August 26, 1942. He married Cheryl Stuart on December 3, 1966 in Grant, Michigan. He was a plant manager for Bolthouse Farms. He was a member of Grant Reformed Church. He was a veteran having served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War from November 16, 1961 to November 9, 1965 when he was discharged as an A1C. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Koopman of Grant, his sons David & Lisa Koopman of Neenah, WI, Paul & Michele Koopman of Parchment, Andrew & Jennifer Koopman of Grant, 7 grandchildren, his sister Jean VanderMolen of Union City, his brother in law Bruce Wortley of Racine, WI. He was preceded in death by his sister Eileen Wortley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Grant Reformed Church on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 with Pastor Steve Vander West officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. Mr. Leroy H. Hall, age 89 of Kent City, died Sunday, October 16, 2011 in Grand Rapids. He was born Leroy Henry Hall in Woodville, Michigan the son of Pearl A. (Withers) and Henry L. Hall on February 06, 1922. He married Gladys Mary Cooper Hill on September 20, 1947 in White Cloud and she preceded him in death on April 18, 1996. He was a Iron Pourer for Sparta Foundry retiring after 32 years. He was a veteran having served in the Army during World War II from November 21, 1942 to December 23, 1945 when he was discharged as a S SGT.
He is survived by his daughter Christine & Frank Yirku, his son Randall Hall all of Ft. Wayne, IN, 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his brother Calvin & Nancy Hall of Big Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM from the McKinley Grant Chapel, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 with the Newaygo VFW Chaplain officiating. Mr. Warren "Rich" Hall, age 70 of Custer, died Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Fremont. He was born Warren Richard Hall in Buchanan, Florida the son of Lilly (Gallimore) and James Edward Hall on June 3, 1941. He married Yvonne Ruth Crandall on February 9, 1962 in Fremont. He was a self employed Trucker for 35 years retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Casnovia.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne Hall, his children Warren Jr. & Millie Hall of Idlewild, Emily Merriman & friend Dave Hooker of Fremont, Molly Nelson of Scottville, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sons in law Richard Nelson of Ludington, William Orr of Scottville, Ted Merriman of Fremont, his brother Jimmy Jr. & Mary Hall of Fremont, his sisters Natilie Thompson, Beverly Bonter all of Grant. He was preceded in death grandson Wyatt Nelson, brothers Harold Hall, Robert Hall, Doug Hall.

Mrs. Genevieve Ilene Miller, Age 94 of Manistee, formerly of Newaygo and Grand Haven, died Thursday, October 12, 2011 in Manistee. She was born Genevieve Ilene Hosier in Big Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Nellie (Cosier) and Harry Hosier on October 1, 1917. She married Earl Miller on May 10, 1947 in Boyne City, Michigan and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1995. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughters Cecelia & William Bonny of Newaygo, Doris & Robert Hardenburgh of Manistee, Kimberly Miller of Houston, TX, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, she was preceded in death by her siblings Leonard Hosier, Joseph Hosier, Doris Miller and Pauline Willis. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM from the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo on Monday, October 17, 2011 with Father Pete Schafer officiating. Gavin Jay Stray, infant son of Brett & Jame Stray of Grant, died shortly after birth Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.
Besides his parents he is also survived by his brother Gage Stray, his grandparents Dawn & Russ Thompson of Casnovia, Pam & Tim Wright of Grant, Tom & Valerie Stray of White Cloud, his great grandparents Don & Betty Jensen of Casnovia, Natalie Thompson, John & Pat McKinlay and Pat Stray all of Grant. He was preceded in death by his great grandfathers Russ Thompson and John Stray.

Mr. Robert Francis Nelson, Age 89 of Newaygo, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Grand Rapids. He was born Robert Francis Nelson in St. Cloud, Minnesota the son of Jeanette (Handlogten) and Theodore Nelson on October 1, 1922. He married Nellie C. Bos on May 1, 1948 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a serviceman for MichCon, until 1962. After that he pursued several self employed ventures. He was a member of Pine Grove Community Church. He is survived by his wife Nellie Nelson, his children Linda & William Sweers of Bronson, Richard & Julie Nelson of Lake Odessa, Thomas & Dala Nelson of Middleville, Patricia Shea of Dorr, Scott Nelson of Newaygo, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, his sister Genevieve Owens of Texas, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Mrs. Laura Lee Malone, Age 53 of Newaygo, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at home. She was born Laura Lee LaPree in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of LaVonne (Crawford) and Richard LaPree on April 4, 1958. She married Michael Rogers Malone on August 1, 2009 in Newaygo. She was an office manager for Sand Mold Systems. She is survived by her husband Michael Malone of Newaygo, her children Shawn & Chelsea Diaz, Andrea & Scott Martin of Maryville, Indiana , her step son Todd Nausadis of Newaygo, 8 grandchildren, her mother LaVonne LaPree, her sisters Glenna & Steve Wilde of Bailey, Marlene LaPree of Florida, her brother Roger LaPree of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. Lois A. Muma, age 94 of Grant, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Transitional Health Services near Fremont. She was born Lois Arlene Campbell in Grant, the daughter of Eva (Johnson) and Arthur Campbell on April 21, 1917. She married Kenneth Pearl Muma on August 2, 1937 in Indiana and he preceded her in death on July 13, 1999. She was a Matron for the Newaygo County Sheriff Department until 1980.
She is survived by her son Thomas & Lila Muma of Grant, her Grandchildren Mark & Mindy Muma of Washington, Chris & Dave Ouwinga of Grant, Tom Muma of Grant, Angie & Doug Smith of Kent City, her Great Grandchildren Kenny Muma of Washington, Kalie Ouwinga, Kendall Ouwinga, Connor Ouwinga all of Grant, Joshua Muma of Fremont, her sister Thelma McCoy of Grant, sister‑in‑law Charlotte Campbell of Grant. She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Muma.
