Mr. Gregory William Lyon, Age 52 of White Cloud, formerly of Coloma, died Monday, August 29, 2011 at home. He was born Gregory William Lyon in West Palm Beach, Florida the son of Shirley (Lavins) and William Lyon on January 7, 1959. He married Roxanne M. Reagan on June 22, 1984 in Dowagiac. He was a sales engineer for Leco Corporation in St. Joe. He was a member of the American Society of Metallurgy. He is survived by his wife Roxanne of White Cloud, his sons Lance & Erin Westgate of Newaygo, Ryan Westgate of Howard City, Bradley Lyon & LaTeisha Stout of White Cloud, Michael Lyon of White Cloud, his grandchildren Brooke Westgate, Jacob Westgate and Riley Marie Lyon, his parents Bill & Shirley Lyon of Centre, AL, his brothers Scott & Kathryn Lyon of Bradenton, FL, and Rick & Kelley Lyon of Crossville, AL, his niece & nephew Blake & Brittany Lyon, his parents in law Art & Gail Reagan of Morley, several brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Mr. Charles "Pete" Hicks Sr., age 80 of Grant, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at his home in Bridgeton Township. He was born Charles William Hicks in Rogers, Arkansas the son of Ruth Belle (Price) and Leon Leslie Hicks on March 15, 1931. He married Betty May Shusterich on April 24, 1954 in Muskegon. He was a Blanchard Grinder for Northern Machine Tool & Die of Muskegon retiring in 1986 after 24 years. He was a member of Fremont Church of Christ. He was a Union Stewart. He was a veteran having served in the Army from October 28, 1948 to August 13, 1952 when he was discharged as a CPL.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty, his children Cheryl Carter of Bullhead City, AZ, Charlie Hicks & friend Deb Chapin of Grant, grandchildren Greg Carter, Derek Hicks, Jessica (C.J.) Schmiege, great grandson Rowan Carter, sister Nina Hines of Twin Lake, sisters in law Doreen Hicks of North Muskegon, Martha Hicks, Twin Lake. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert Hicks, James Hicks, sister Wanda Pickard.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the McKinley Grant Chapel, on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 with Carl Brott & Charlie Wiseman officiating. Mr. Luis Felipe Garza, age 71, of Sand Lake, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at his home in Sand Lake. He was born Luis Felipe Garza in Benavides, TX the son of Dora (Garcia) and Felipe Garza on August 24, 1939. He married Paula Estrada on December 14, 1957 in Alice, TX. He was a Truck Driver until retiring in 2008.
He is survived by his wife Paula Garza, son Luis & Carol Garza of Sand Lake, daughter Irma Garza of Lansing, son Paul Garza of Grant, son Jose & Faith Garza of Okemos, son Robert L. & Debra Garza of Sand Lake, daughter Tina Marie Garza of Sand Lake, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mr. William "Bill" McKinley, Sr., age 63 of Stanwood, formerly of Grant, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in Grand Rapids. He was born William Charles McKinley, in Fremont, the son of Ardith Arlene (Kromer) and Harold James McKinley Jr. on June 28, 1948. He married Mary Catherine George on August 16, 1985 in Rockford. He was the Owner/operator for Bill McKinley Masonry & Concrete in Grant. He attended Chippewa Hills Baptist Church, Remus. He was a Basketball & Golf coach for Grant High School and presently the Asst. Golf coach Muskegon Community College for the last 4 yrs with his brother John.
He is survived by his wife Mary McKinley, his children Mike & Amy McKinley, William, Jr "Billy" & Pam McKinley, Brenda & Gerry Williams, 12 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, his mother Ardy McKinley, his brothers John & Susann McKinley, A.J. & Sandy McKinley, sister in law Marge & Bob Bergers, parents in law Erwin & Mary George, sisters in law Jan & Mike Oberlin, Barbara George, several nephews & nieces. He was preceded in death by brother Jim McKinley, father Red McKinley, and granddaughter Rachel Williams.

Mr. Jackie Lee Birdsell, Age 82 of Newaygo, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at home. He was born Jackie Lee Birdsell in Kato, Kansas the son of Francis (Brown) and Louis Birdsell on February 9, 1929. He married Grace Thompson in July 1949 in Missouri and she preceded him in death in 2001. He was a sales engineer for Process Engineering in Comstock Park until his retirement. He is survived by his children Lynn & Kathy Birdsell of Newaygo, Char Birdsell of Newaygo, Randy & Ellen Birdsell of Bay City, Rick & Jeanette Birdsell of Newaygo, Dia & Tate Eggers of Holland, 12 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren plus one on the way, his sister Shirley Garret of Arcadia, KS, his brother C.W. Birdsell of Ft. Scott, KS and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother Melvin Birdsell and sister Margaret Logan. Mrs. Dorothy “Louise” Lumbert, age 90 of Fremont passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of George and Minnie Wilson on March 13, 1921. After raising her family, Louise went back to school and worked as a nurse in Fremont. Her greatest joy was tending to others needs and the happiness she received from small children. Mother continued to transport her elderly friends until the “boys” took her car away at 84 years old. She is survived by her children Marie Douglass of Ft. Meade, FL, Karl Simon of Wickenburg, AZ, Craig Young of Mechanicsburg, PA, Michael Simon of Rochester Hills, Donald Simon of Traverse City, William Simon of Grant, Kenneth Simon, Kendall Lumbert of Longview, TX, Rebecca Lumbert of Fremont, many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by mother Minnie Steele, her Aunt Cody Stevens, her sons Robert Simon, Douglas Simon and Charles Simon. Mrs. June Marlene Ryman, age 63 of Newaygo, died Sunday, August 07, in Grand Rapids. She was born June Marlene Hoye in Grand Rapids, the daughter of June (Nelson) and Al Hoye on December 27, 1947. She married Floyd David Ryman on November 5, 1965 in Grand Rapids and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1996.
She is survived by her son David & Colleen Ryman of White Cloud, son Jason & Melissa Ryman of Newaygo, daughter Jennifer Thompson of Newaygo, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sister Arlene Paiz of Sparta, brother Terry Hoye of Chicago, brother Gary & Jeanne Hoye of Grand Rapids, along with several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Butch LaRoue.

Mr. David Lawrence Jennings, Age 45 of Newaygo died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in Grand Rapids. He was born David Lawrence Jennings in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Beyrl (Bills) and Lawrence Jennings on March 28, 1966. He married Catherine Mallia on April 12, 2011 in White Cloud, Michigan. He was a shipping and receiving clerk for Oliver Medical, Grand Rapids until 2009. He is survived by his wife Catherine Jennings of Newaygo, his children Nicole Labra of Southfield, Daniel Jennings of Newaygo, Jessica Jennings Southfield, Chelsy Jennings of Newaygo, Remi Majeski of Durango, CO, Gage Mallia of Newaygo, and his grandchildren Austin, Zoey, Kalianna & Zaeden. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence & Beyrl Jennings and his brother Don Jennings. Memorial luncheon will be held at 12:00 PM at their residence at 5658 S. Mr. Acel William Reinhard, Age 26 of White Cloud, Michigan died Friday, July 29, 2011 in White Cloud. He was born Acel William Reinhard in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Bernice Yvonne (Pleune) and William Nelson Reinhard on October 18, 1984. He was an assembler at Magna Donnelly.
He is survived by his parents William & Bernice Reinhard of White Cloud, his brother Anthony & Stacey Reinhard of Grant, his sisters Roxanne & Steve Spahr of Pueblo, CO and Brandy Wallace of Grand Ledge, his nieces & nephews Faith, Dylan, Siera, Landon, his grandparents Stuart & Irene Simpkins of Orleans and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
