Mr. David L. Cash, age 54 of Grant, died Monday, March 28, 2011 at his home in Grant Township. He was born David Lee Cash in Grand Rapids, the son of Beverly (Wyley) and Robert Gordon Cash on July 7, 1956. He was a self-employed Contractor.
He is survived by his children Kelly Cash, David & Alisha Cash, Desirae Cash, Aaron Cash, 5 grandchildren, his mother, brothers & sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM from the 1st Congregational Church, Lowell on Friday, April 1, 2011 with officiating. Interment will be in the Campbell Township Cemetery in Clarksville. Mr. Gordon Amos Osborn, Age 76 of Grant, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at home. He was born Gordon Amos Osborn in Grant, Michigan the son of Rosetta (Puff) and Leonard Osborn on September 29, 1934. He married Kathleen A. Mutchler on September 11, 1959 in Sparta, Michigan. He was a Foreman for Keeler Brass until his retirement in 1984 after 23 years. He attended North Casnovia Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Osborn of Grant, his sons Timothy & Sharon Osborn of Grant, Michael & Amy Osborn of Ramsay, and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson Andrew and daughter in law Lori Osborn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the North Casnovia Baptist Church, Bailey on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 with Pastor Aaron Shaw officiating. Interment in Parkview Cemetery. Mrs. Arlene A. Sowell-Welch, age 55 of Howard City, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at home in Ensley Township. She was born Arlene Ann Welch in Cadillac, the daughter of Maxine Louise (Mowrey) and Alfred Franklin Welch, Sr. on July 17, 1955. She was a Home Maker.
She is survived by her son Aaron Yaw, step‑daughter Cathy & Alfred, Jr. Welch, her sisters Elaine Welch, Vera Giffen all of Howard City, Kay Felder of Jeninngs, Kathy Welch of Grant, Linda & Doug Cook of Greenville, Beth Welch, her brothers Mark Welch all of Howard City, Robert & Lera Welch of Kent City.

Mrs. Roberta J. Hiler, age 62 of Grant, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at her home in Grant Township. She was born Roberta Jean Ashcroft in Fremont, the daughter of Juna (Carpenter) and Scott Dean Ashcroft on April 17, 1948. She married Daniel Keith Hiler on April 18, 1964 in Grant. She was a Homemaker all her life. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, Grant. She enjoyed baking, cooking & gardening; She had a talent for crocheting & knitting; She was owner of "Handmade for You" selling her custom made items; was an active member of of her church.
She is survived by her husband Daniel Hiler, her children Scott & Stefanie Hiler of Grant, Lee & Joni Hiler of Ravenna, Lon & Lorrie Hiler of Grand Rapids, Cory Hiler of Grant, Bobbi Jean Hiler of Grand Rapids, 14 grandchildren, 1 great‑granddaughter, her sisters Marsha & Donald VanSingel of Grant, Eileen & Jake Wilson, Dorene & Bryan Spencer all of Muskegon, special Cousin Heather & Greg Ashcroft‑Clark, sisters in law Bonnie & Srlon Travis, Mary Jane & Joe Kenyon, Kathy & John Davis, brothers in law Howard & Pat Hiler, Gerald & Ardie Hiler, Gary Espinosa. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Judy Espinosa.

Mr. Richard Earl Augdahl, age 70, of Newaygo, died Monday March 21, 2011 in Newaygo. He was born Richard Earl Augdahl in Chicago, Illinois the son of Lulu (Denton) and Oscar Augdahl on July 2, 1940. He married Mary Ebeling on August 26, 2005 in White Cloud. He was a lawn care specialist for Meadowbrook Lawncare until 2004. He was a member of Swedish Covenant Church in Princeton, Illinois. He was a veteran having served in the Army from July 03, 1958 to July 02, 1961 when he was discharged as a PFC.
He is survived by his wife Mary Augdahl; children Jim, Elizabeth, John, Laura, Maree, Mark and Michelle Ebeling, Diane Ebeling; Many grandchildren; sisters Patricia, Eleanor, Lillian; brother Fred.

Mr. John E. McIntyre, Age 93 of Newaygo, died Monday, March 21, 2011 near Fremont. He was born John E. McIntyre in White Cloud, Michigan the son of Margaret Myrtle (Teetor) and William Ozro McIntyre on June 4, 1917. He married Irene Peters on September 29, 1956 in Newaygo and she preceded him in death in 1974. He was a materials handler for GR Metalcrafts until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of Newaygo United Methodist Church. He had a passion for music through which he showed his testimony. He especially had a passion for playing the guitar, the harmonica, and singing, having appeared on the WLS Search For a Star and the Morris B. Sachs Amateur Hour, also on WLS in Chicago. He loved trains and built a miniature to use in parades. He was involved with the Buckley Engine Show and the Blanchard Show. He also loved working in the woods. He was especially proud of having helped his two kids through college, each of them graduating without a student loan. He is survived by his daughter Janet & Tim Breen of Newaygo, his four grandchildren John, Emily, Laura and Molly Breen, and his sister Betty Taylor of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene and his son Richard E. McIntyre. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM from the Newaygo United Methodist Church, on Saturday, March 26, 2011 with Pastor Gary Heim officiating. Interment will be in Croton Cemetery. Ms. Cindy Lou Gass, Age 51 of Grant, Michigan died Friday, March 18, 2011 at home. She was born Cindy Lou Gass in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Shirley Levene (Miller) and Lester Eugene Gass on March 25, 1959. She was a warehouse worker for Rapid Parts, Grand Rapids for the past 8 years. Survived by her children Diana Hunter, Becky Danton, and Matthew Ross, 2 grandchildren all of Gary, Indiana and her sister Sandy Keech‑Chanbliss of Sparta. Mrs. Ilah M. Crispin, age 93 of Grand Rapids and formerly of Grant, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Grand Rapids. She was born Ilah Mae Lesley in Grant, the daughter of Carrie (Bitgood) and Fred Lesley on July 30, 1917. She married Carl Kenneth Crispin on December 10, 1934 in South Bend, Indiana and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1980. She was a Cashier for Gene’s Family Market, Grant, until retiring after 20 years. She was a member of Grant Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by her children Kay & Michael Wallace of Newaygo, Richard & Alice Crispin of Walker, her grandchildren Alicia Crispin, Carl & Lori Crispin all of Grand Rapids, Matthew & Corinne Wallace of West Olive, her very special great-granddaughters twins Jillane Kay Wallace & Keira Patricia Wallace and Elsie Anneliese Crispin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Grant Wesleyan Church, on Saturday, March 19, 2011 with Pastor Jonathan White officiating. Interment is in the Hillside Cemetery near Grant. Robert Peace Ebel, long time resident of Newaygo, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Newaygo Medical Care Facility, Fremont.
He was born November 11, 1918 (the original Armistice Day) in Newark, New Jersey to Oscar N. and Sadie L. (Barry) Ebel.
They lived many places during the depression era; Pittsburg, PA, Detroit, MI, then in Grant, MI where the whole family worked on the muck farms. They moved to Newaygo in the 30’s where Bob stayed most of his life. He graduated Newaygo High School in 1938. He met Avis G. Hesse and they were married after graduating. He worked many jobs around Newaygo until he and his brother Lester built Ebel Body Shop in 1946, one of the first in the area.
Bob had 5 children, a son Raymond Ebel and 4 daughters Karen (Roman) Scheidel of Holton, Barbara (Mike) Ashcroft of Grant, Pamela (Roy) Halverson of Newaygo and Susan E. Ebel. Raymond became his partner in the body shop which was in business until 2002.
Bob had 3 brothers Lester Ebel, Richard Ebel and Arthur Ebel (all deceased) and 3 sisters, Hope Stroud of Grant (deceased), Gladys Beuschel of Grand Rapids, Charlotte Keller of Grand Rapids and Dorothy Lockery of Tucson, AZ (deceased). He is also survived by a sister in law Betty Ebel of Jenison and a brother in law Chuck Lockery of Tucson AZ.
Bob was very active in the community. He was a member of the Newaygo Fire Department for 50 years. He became the radio operator and always made sure the guys always had what was needed at a fire. He was involved in Newaygo Masonic Temple for many years as well as the Newaygo Lions Club.
Bob was an avid golfer having many trophies and three hole in ones at Briar Hill Golf Course. He also bowled at Fremont Lanes and was a member of the White Cloud Gun Club for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Avis in 1976, his son Raymond in 2002 and his daughter Susan in 1951.
Funeral services will be held at McKinley Funeral Home, Newaygo on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:00 am with Mr. Dan Nicksich officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Interment will be in Newaygo Cemetery. Of Grant, MI, was given mercy and returned home to her Heavenly Father at age 88, after living for years in East Amherst, NY, with her oldest daughter, Maria Rosaura (aka, RoseMary) (John, MD) Stanievich ; beloved wife of 50 years of the late Antonio Rios Mata; loving mother of seven children: Antonio Jr (Dolores) of Saginaw, MI; Alberto (Ada) of Oklahoma City, OK; Richard (Carmen) of Rio Rancho, NM; Carlos (Peggy) of Byron Center, MI; Sylvia (David) Rosales of Houston, TX; and Diana Pickard of Union City, TN; also survived by 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Aurelia Trevino Rios (Antonio) of Crystal City, TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be at 10 am, Saturday, March 12, 2011, one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at St Bartholomew Church 599 W. Brooks Street, Newaygo, MI. Funeral arrangements by Carlton A.
