Mrs. Ione Robinson, age 96 of Grant, died Monday, September 27, 2010 in Grant. She was born Doris Ione McKinley in Grant, Michigan the daughter of Susie Anna (McInnis) and Robert Blaine McKinley on December 18, 1913. She married Carroll Robinson on August 25, 1936 in Grant and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1979 . She was a book keeper until her retirement. She was a member of Grant Community Church. She was a long time 4H leader in Ashland, a member of Ashland Grange, Michigan Farm Bureau, and The Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a former Ashland Township Treasurer. She is survived by her daughters Mary & Rodney Bellows of Cadillac, Marie & Alvin Hall of Muskegon, Marty & Richard Osburn of Fremont, Sue & Randy Derks of Fremont, her daughter‑in‑law Dawn Robinson of Grant, 7 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, and her sister in law Ang McKinley of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Robinson, her son Harry Robinson and a granddaughter Shannon Hall. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM from the Grant Community Church, 115 W. State Rd. on Thursday, September 30, 2010 with Pastor Steve VanderWest officiating. Interment in Ashland Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6‑8 PM Wednesday at McKinley Funeral Home, Grant and 12:30 ‑ 1:30 PM Thursday at Grant Community Church. For memorials please consider Grant Community Church.

Diane Ruth Wilson ( Lambert) age 76 passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at Northview Manor in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Diane Graduated from Creston High School in Grand Rapids in 1952.  She married Gordon Dean Wilson on July 2, 1960. She worked for several years at Old Kent Bank, then went to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens as office manager and finished up her working years at Croton Township office.  Diane was preceded in death by her parents Lewis & Eva Lambert, and her sister and brother-in-law Charlene & Jerry Loop.  She is survived by her Husband of 50 years Gordon Dean Wilson, her daughters Nancy & Mike Miles of Florida, Donna & Mike Mustard of Ohio, her son Donald Wilson of Tennessee, 12 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.  Also surviving is her sister Lou Arden & Earl Arendsen of Zeeland, a niece who is more like a sister, Jeralyn and Bob Keeney, several nephews and nieces and also several great nephews & nieces.  Services for Diane will be held at the McKinley Funeral Home in Newaygo, Michigan on Monday, September 27, 2010 at noon.  The visitation 5 – 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.   Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids.  The family would like to thank the following people for their wonderful care and kindness:

Mrs. Freida Rose Tingle, Age 80 of Jenison, formerly of Gulfport, Mississippi, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 24, 2010. She was born Freida Rose VanderHaag in Grant, Michigan the daughter of Anna (Snyder) and Ryan VanderHaag on May 04, 1930. She was an insurance agent before her retirement. She survived hurricane Katrina with a move from Gulfport to Columbus where she met her good friend Frances Cooper. She then moved to Oakcrest Manor in Jenison and enjoyed the loving care of her cousins Ruth & Jerry Martin. She is survived by her sister Greta (Plaisier) & Bill Knight of Grant, her nephew Ronald & Deborah Plaisier of Kalamazoo, her grand niece Trisha & Nathan Batts of Kalamazoo, great grand nephews Tommy & Henry Batts of Kalamazoo, grand niece Kristina & Dan Shrik of Kalamazoo, grand niece Sarah Plaisier and fiance Trevor Deter of Kalamazoo, niece Marianne Plaisier and Gordon Mortensen of Meguon, WI and their childredn Jordan & Leah, niece Kate Plaisier and Neal Johnson of Washington DC, and many cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Grant Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 with Pastor Steve Vanderwest officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery. Mrs. Ila P. Russell, age 94 of Grant died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Grant Fountainview Retirement Village in Grant.   She was born Ila Pauline Braybrook in Bailey, the daughter of Bertha Bell (Hibbs) and Archie T. Braybrook on January 13, 1916. She married Eldreth Lawrence Russell on July 9, 1937 in Bailey, and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1994. She was a homemaker and  a member of Bailey Christian Church.      

She is survived by her sister Velma Mahn of Muskegon, her sisters in law Shirley Braybrook of Muskegon and Nina Braybrook of Grant.

Graveside Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at the Seaman Cemetery, near Bailey on Friday, September 24, 2010 with Mr. Daren Penwell officiating. There will be no visitation. Mr. Steven Dale Bouwkamp, Age 51 of Grant, Michigan died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Grant Township. He was born Steven Dale Bouwkamp in the son of Doris Irene (Breuker) and William Mathew Bouwkamp on June 27, 1959. He married Julie Pell on July 25, 1986 in Fremont. He was a plant manager for Vansingel Farms. He was a member of Grant Reformed Church. He is survived by his wife Julie Bouwkamp of Grant, his children Nathan, Brent Bouwkamp and Amy Bouwkamp of Grant, his parents William & Doris Bouwkamp of Kent City, his brothers Bruce Bouwkamp of Sand Lake and Greg & Deneen Bouwkamp of Grant, his parents in law Marvin & Jessie Pell of Fremont, his brothers‑in‑law Randy & Ann Pell of Fremont, John & Pat Pell of Fremont, Rod & Sharon Pell of Springlake, his sister‑in‑law Nancy Pell of Grand Haven, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother‑in‑law Jerry Pell. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM from the Grant Reformed Church on Sunday, September 26, 2010 with Pastor Mik Sutton officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7‑9 PM Saturday at McKinley Funeral Home, Grant and 1‑3 PM Sunday at Grant Reformed Church. Ms. Tamara Deanae Puff, Age 37 of Grant, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at home. She was born Tamara Deanae Puff in Manistee, Michigan the daughter of Gloria Puff on August 06, 1973. She was a nurses aid for various nursing homes in the area. She was a member of New Community Church, Newaygo. She is survived by her mother Gloria Puff of Grant, her brother Floyd Puff of Newaygo, her nephews Alex, Ryan, Adison, her nieces Aiyana, Aryanna , her grandmother Margie Ristau of Grant and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM from the New Community Church Newaygo, on Saturday, September 25, 2010 with Pastor Case Van Wyk officiating. For memorials please consider giving towards the funeral expenses.

Mr. John E. Hancock, age 66 of Clarkston, and formerly of Grand Rapids, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Troy.   He was born John Edward Hancock in Grand Rapids, the son of Katherine Louise (Vanden Berg) and William Lewis Hancock on November 24, 1943.   He was a Computer Supervisor for Standard Federal, Troy Michigan retiring after 30 years.   He was a member of US Naval Reserves.     

He is survived by his sister Idamae & Ralph Shepard of Davisburg, his  nieces and nephews William & Brenda Shepard, Matthew Scott & Daisy Shepard, Jennifer Shepard, Katherine & Ryan Sharp, Sarah Shepard. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM from the Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, Grand Rapids on Saturday, September 18, 2010. Interment in Rosedale Memorial Park.   Visitation 1‑3 PM Saturday prior to services. Mrs. Blanche E. Higgins, age 83 of Grant, died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Transitional Health Services near Fremont.   She was born Blanche Ellen Brown in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Frances Mary (Verrill) and Frank David Brown on April 10, 1927. She married Fern George Higgins on February 2, 1946 in Grant and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2004. She was a School Teacher in Kent, Muskegon & Newaygo Counties for 40 years until 1990.   She was a member of Michigan Teachers’ Association and graduated from Western Michigan University in 1964.    

She is survived by her children Dawn Flanegan of Grand Rapids, David & Melissa Higgins of Grant, George Higgins of Howard City, Loyd & Sueann Higgins of Grant, Jerri & George Hitts of Grant, Joseph & Mary Higgins of White Cloud, 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, her sister Vivian Bignall of Sparta.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM at the Ashland Center Cemetery, near Grant on Friday, September 17, 2010.   There will be no visitation.  For memorials please consider the charity of your choice.  Please leave condolences at www.mckinleyfuneral.com
