Mrs. Elizabeth "Beth"  Bailey, age 49 of Grant, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Leila & Cyrus, Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon.   She was born Elizabeth Marie Alexis in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Marilyn Joyce (Tatro) and Iver Andres Alexis on November 24, 1960. She married John Allen Bailey on May of 1988 in Grandville and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1994. She was a Manager for Advo‑Care, Rockford until 2008. She was a member of Rice Lake Baptist Church.      

She is survived by her parents Marilyn Hull of Newaygo and Iver A. Alexis of Grand Rapids, her son Robert Moomey of Grand Rapids, her daughter Lisa Alexis of Grant, 5 grandchildren, her brothers Iver Alexis, Lawrence & Ruth Ann Alexis all of South Carolina, her sister Jill & Robert Black of Bailey, and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel, on Thursday, January 28, 2010 with Pastor Dan Fullmer officiating.     Visitation will be held two hours prior to service. Mrs. Marva Gerencer, aged 74, of Bailey, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in Grand Rapids. She was born Elizabeth Marva Millard in Bailey, Michigan the daughter of Hazel Fern (Thompson) and Asa Elliot Millard on November 20, 1935. She married Rudolph Gerencer on October 17, 1953 in Ravenna. She was a Homemaker all her life. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. She was a Muskegon Co. 4H leader, a member of the Red hat Society, the Marvelous Marva Club and Michigan Farm Bureau. She is survived by her husband Rudy Gerencer, her children Joseph & Debra Gerencer of Grant, Susan Sturgis of Grant, Karen & Rick Force of Grant, Bernie & Laura Gerencer of Newaygo, Tom & Laurie Gerencer of Grand Haven, Chris & Cary Gerencer of Sand Lake, Annie & Doug Pascoe of Grant, Alan & Magda Gerencer of Portland, OR, Andrew Gerencer of Llano, TX, Julie & Jeremy Nelson of Sand Lake, 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers & sisters Mary Meil of Grand Haven, Claine Gardner of Muskegon, Ken Millard of North Muskegon, Bud & Pat Millard of Lawton, OK. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Elizabeth Gerencer in 1982. Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo with Father Peter Schafer as Celebrant. Witkowski – Mr. Daniel T. Witkowski, aged 56 of Newaygo, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice in Fruitport.   He was born Daniel Thomas Witkowski on November 24, 1953 in Muskegon, Michigan the son of Richard and Jacqueline (Larabee) Witkowski.  He married Diane Adele Bayne on April 1, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He is survived by his wife Diane, his children Daniel Witkowski of Chicago, Neil & Rachael Witkowski of Grand Rapids, Matthew Witkowski, Michelle Witkowski, Marci Witkowski all of Newaygo, his grandson Jacek, 3 step grandchildren, his mother Jackie Witkowski of Shelby, his brothers & sisters Father Phillip Witkowski of Shelby, Julie & Bill Veltman of Twin Lake, Janie & Brian Meier, Bev & Joe Mieler all of Muskegon, Andy Witkowski of Hesperia, Janice & Brian Kammers of Rockford, several special nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Richard and his brother Raymond. Memorial funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Monday, January 18, 2010 at the McKinley Funeral Home-Newaygo Chapel with his brother the Father Phillip Witkowski officiating. Mrs. Dorothy L. Alverson, age 67 of Grant, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at her home in Grant Township.   She was born Dorothy Linda Fowler in Ridgeway, South Carolina the daughter of Inez Allie (Bennett) and   Fowler on July 6, 1942. She married Norman Eugene Alverson on October 8, 1965 in Rockville, Maryland. She was a Homemaker all her life.        

She is survived by her husband Norman Alverson, her sons Norman, Jr. & Brenna Alverson, Shawn Alverson, Eric & Sonya Alverson all of Grant, Robert & Cyndi Alverson of Holton, 14 grandchildren,  1 great‑granddaughter, her brother  Jack Fowler of Texas, and her sister Betty & Vincent Romano of Florida.

Mrs. Marjorie A. Barber, aged 86, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Grant Fountainview Retirement Village.  She was born Marjorie alice Weaver December 8, 1924 in Iowa the daughter of .She married Edgar Alliston Barber August 10, 1950 and he preceded her in death February 16, 2009.  Mrs. Barber was a secretary at Gerber Products for many years and was a member the Newaygo Eastern Star.

She is survived by her grandson Derrick & Kathleen Radtke of Roanoke, VA and her great-grandson Ridge Radtke.

There will be a visitation for relatives and friends from 6-7 PM at the McKinley Funeral Home in Grant on .

Mr. Franklin J. Smith, age 71 of Newaygo, died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at his home in Newaygo.   He was born Franklin John Smith in Muskegon, the son of Margaret Ann (Ferner) and Edwin Smith on December 10, 1938. He married Mary Anna Kosheba on September 6, 1958 in Ravenna. He was a Mill Wright for 20 years for CWC, Muskegon until February 1, 1996.   He was a former member of Newaygo Volunteer Fire Department and had served in the US Army from July 1, 1958 until June 15, 1964 and was discharged as a SGT E5..

He is survived by his wife Mary Smith, his children Wayne & Wanneata Smith of Fremont, Brenda & Steve Browning of Germfask, Jennie & Todd Powell of Ravenna, Franklin Smith, Jr. of London, Ontario, Canada, Marysue & Tim Omans of Ravenna, Linda & Harold Attwell of Fremont,  21 grandchildren, his brothers & sister David & Katy Smith of Kent City,  Barbara Seabrook of Grant, Allen & Julie Smith of Muskegon.

Mr. Dean A. Adrianse, age 48 of Newaygo, died Friday, January 8, 2010 at his home in Croton Township.   He was born Dean Allan Adrianse in Greenville, the son of Jean (Ruttan) and Fred Adrianse on May 29, 1961.   He was presently a Night manager for Gene’s Market.   He was a Past commander of the SAL of American Legion.    

He is survived by his mother Jean & Frank Glowacki of White Cloud, his father Tom & Deb Adrianse of Indianapolis, IN, his grandma Alice Wright of Newaygo, his brother Chuck & Alena Adrianse of Las Vegas, NV, his nephew Chuck Adrianse, his niece Lynde Adrianse, and his aunt Ann & Clarence Hansen of Newaygo.

Daddy’s little girl Arrianna Nakia Grace Funderburg, age 3 months, of Newaygo, died suddenly Sunday, January 3, 2010 at home.   She was born Arrianna Nakia Grace Funderburg in Big Rapids, the daughter of Pamela Kae (Bisard) and Jack Leland Funderburg on September 29, 2009.  

She is survived by her parents Jack & Pamela Funderburg, her brother Nickelous Bailey,  her grandparents Jim & Cheryl Bisard, Cynthia Funderburg, Steven & Mary Lou Funderburg, great‑grandparents Nancy VanDyke, Jack & Corky Torrie, Wayne & Eve Funderburg, great-great-grandma Henrietta Hoeksema, and several aunts & uncles.

Mr. Gene Albert Stout, Age 39 of Newaygo died Saturday, January 2, 2010 in Grand Rapids.  He was born Gene Albert Stout in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Orah Hope (Taylor) and Gene Albert Stout, Sr. on January 27, 1970. He married Amy Rose Shaw on February 10, 2005 in Greenville. He was a welder for Metal Components Inc. until 2007. He was a member of Bill’s Lake Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Amy Stout of Newaygo, his daughter Harley Stout, his son Dustin Stout, his step son Kevin Peasley, his father Gene Stout, Sr. of Howard City, his mother Hope Walters of Cedar Springs, his sister Angie & Randy Beagle of Tustin, his brothers George Stout and Charlie Stout of Howard City and his best friend Todd Cloud of Newaygo.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM from the Bill’s Lake Baptist Church, Newaygo on Thursday, January 7, 2010 with Pastor Rick Tuttle officiating.  Visitation will be held from Noon to 2:00 PM Thursday before the service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider helping the family with funeral expenses, payments accepted at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ellen Marie Ulrich, Age 76 of White Cloud, Michigan died Saturday, January 2, 2010 in Grand Rapids. She was born Ellen Marie Stocker in Boyne City, Michigan the daughter of Evelyn Isabel (Bondi) and Charles Stocker on July 9, 1933. She married Thomas Ulrich on December 18, 1951 in Boyne City, Michigan and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1994. She was a homemaker. She was a life member of White Cloud Eagles #4170. She is survived by her children Colleen & Paul Dupont of Newaygo, Tom & Lisa Ulrich of Cypress, TX, Lorraine Mulcahy of Newaygo, Richard & Julia Ulrich of Newaygo, Karen Storto of Kentwood, Terry Ulrich of Newaygo, 15 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, her sisters Dorothy Crandel, Charlotte Keech, Nellie Cardosa, her brother George Stocker and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM from the White Cloud Eagles #4170 on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.
