Ms. Roxanne Raterink, Age 51 of Grant, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Grand Rapids. She was born Roxanne Raterink in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Shirley Marie (Losey) and John Benjamin Raterink on November 21, 1957. She is survived by her brothers Scott & Judy Raterink of Grant, Frank & Margie Raterink of Grand Rapids, her sister Sandy & Gary Raterink of Kent City, her nieces and Nephews Brent, Kami, Amanda, Kevin, Zach, Nikki, Kristin, Katelyn, Grace & Kailey. She was preceded in death by her sister Connie Raterink on March 26, 1984. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM from the Ashland Center Cemetery on Thursday, July 30, 2009. Mr. Robert Lee Veihl, Age 71 of Newaygo, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at home. He was born Robert Lee Veihl in Grant, Michigan the son of Mildred (Conklin) and Walter Julius Veihl on January 12, 1938. He married Bonnie Bennett and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2005. He was a Laborer for Chittenden’s Feed Mill for 14 years. He was a member of Newaygo VFW Post #4249. He was a veteran having served in the Army from April 4, 1956 to March 11, 1958 when he was discharged as a PFC (T). He is survived by his daughters Kathy & Robert Landefeld of Grand Rapids, Nancy & Brian Lockhart of Newaygo, Linda Veihl of Newaygo, his grandchildren Marie, Chad, Rebecca, Amber, Bobby, and Cody, six great grandchildren, his brother Doug & Carolyn Veihl of Mears, and his brother-in-law Dick & Carol Bonter of Ravenna, he was also preceded in death by his sister Gayle Bonter. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Newaygo VFW Post #4249 in Newaygo on Saturday, July 25, 2009 with the VFW Chaplain officiating. Infant Madeline Grace Smith, 4 months, daughter of Sheila & Justin, died un-expectantly Monday, July 13, 2009 at her home in Grant Township. She was born Madeline Grace Smith in Fremont, the daughter of Sheila Kay Hilbrand and Justin Jon Smith on February 20, 2009.
Besides her parent she is survived by brothers Jaden & Isaiah, grandparents Simon & Sharon Hilbrand and Beth & Gene Skazinski. aunt Sonya Hilbrand, uncle Shawn Hilbrand, aunt Jodi Thomas and aunt Brittany Binney.,
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Grant Christian Reformed Church, on Friday, July 17, 2009 with Pastor Lucas Rodenhouse officiating. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery near Grant. Visitation will be held 7‑9 PM Thursday (July 16) at Grant Christian Reformed Church. For Memorials please consider the Family. Mr. Donald C. Weiss, age 85 of Bailey, died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. He was born Donald Charles Weiss in Detroit, the son of Rose Wilhelmina (Ringwald) and Lemone Clyde Weiss on September 11, 1923. He married Gloria Mae Klinger Beattie on May 12, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana. He was a Machinist for Muskegon Teledyne‑Continental Motors for 45 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of VFW Post #4249 of Newaygo; Muskegon Hts. Eagles Lodge and the Fremont Moose Lodge. He was a veteran having served in the Air Force during World War II from October 27, 1942 to January 4, 1946 when he was discharged as a CPL.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Weiss, his children Bruce Beattie of Bailey, Kathleen & Charles Hesse of Grant, Betsy & Ray Herrmann of Grand Rapids, Barb & Michael Saxton of Sparta, 4 grandchildren, 2 great‑grandchildren, his sisters Beverly Weiss and Barbara Weiss both of Birmingham.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM from the McKinley Grant Chapel, on Saturday, July 11, 2009 with Pastor Wesley Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Seaman Cemetery near Bailey. Mrs. Wilma Lorraine Bodrogi, Age 77 of Newaygo, Michigan , Formerly of the Grand Rapids Area, died Sunday, July 05, 2009 in Garfield Twp. She was born Wilma Lorraine Lamer in Ottawa Co., Michigan the daughter of Pearlena (Stremler) and Jacob Lamer on June 07, 1932. She married Joseph I. Bodrogi on November 6, 1972 in and he preceded her in death on April, 20, 2007. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Cutlerville Christian Reformed Church. She was a member of She grew up in Zealand graduating from Zealand; High School in 1950. She is survived by her daughter Sally Haverkamp, her son Dustin & Teresa Bodrogi, 4 grandchildren, her brothers and sisters Barbara Woodruff, John & Gareta Lamer, Jerry & Muriel Lamer, Anna Bruischart, Ben & Debra Lamer, Linda & James Glockzin, Debra & Daniel VanMalsen, Salle Haverkamp of Newaygo. Mr. Jack Lewis Sturtevant, Age 85 of Newaygo, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at home. He was born Jack Lewis Sturtevant in Plainwell, Michigan the son of Blanche Ethel (Cook) and Arthur Cicero Sturtevant on January 18, 1924. He married Bonita Emma Young on May 3, 1944 in Norfolk, VA. He was a Barber/Beautician in Croton for 20 years and a Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service retiring after 20 years. He was a member of Grant Assembly of God. He is survived by his wife Bonita Sturtevant of Newaygo, his daughter Susan & Ed Fedell of Newaygo, his son Mark Sturtevant of Newaygo, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Grant Assembly of God on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 with Pastor David P.
